1976
Pontiac Bonneville Brougham 2-door Colonnade coupe - not many of
these left.
These cars are becoming classics.
This model is the last of the big American Pontiacs and also the last year for miles on the speedometer in Canada. I purchased this beauty from the son of the original owner. If you remember these impressively BIG cars, this is the one for you. Yes, BIG, but it's also a 2-door with style.
Just under 61,000 original miles. This car is too correct for modifications and appears to be all original except for the recent replacement of shocks, springs,
sway bar links, idler arm, centre link, muffler, tailpipe, brakes,
starter and solenoid, etc. with OEM-style parts. It now has a new
battery too. Think about that
for a moment. Plenty of original-style new parts. And, this isn't just a Bonneville; it's a very original
Bonneville Brougham, the top of the line in 1976. At almost 19 feet long, this car floats over bumps in the road.
Power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, cruise control, power door locks, remote dual outside mirrors, power trunk release, trunk light, original Rally II Pontiac original wheels, original 400 c.i. - 4 bbl American Pontiac engine, original Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission, rear window defroster and even the optional factory gauge package. It all works.
The beautiful red Doeskin interior is in amazing condition. The Bonneville Brougham includes all the regular Bonneville features plus a 400-4bbl engine, a hood windsplit
molding with stand-up hood ornament, monogrammed rear quarter windows, colour-keyed Custom seatbelts, and a fully carpeted velour trunk, including a carpeted spare tire cover. The spare tire
is like new. The floors and trunk are completely solid. It appears to be an
original paint car. And, it sure looks long and low with the factory fender skirts.
What's wrong with it? Not much.
The air conditioning
has been checked over and recharged. It now blows cold.
The clock works when it wants to - needs
lubrication. The heater fan motor can be noisy at slow speeds but sounds good at high speed or when the air is turned on. There's some minor rust at the passenger side wheel-wells that will need
repair (that's the side you see in these photos!!!). And, if I were keeping this car, I'd find a replacement rear bumper due to a couple of small
holes (but they're not large). Any 1975 or 1976 Canadian or American full-size Pontiac bumper should fit. Remember, this is an original paint
36-year-old car so the paint isn't perfect.
This car is a beauty. It starts every time, even after sitting for weeks at a time in my garage. If you haven't experienced the ride of a real full-size American Pontiac, you will be impressed by this beautiful car. No E-test required in Ontario for this model year. Comes with ProtectoPlate showing the original dealer and owner and original owner's manual, etc. Simply buy it, bring your plates/tags, take care of the paperwork and drive it
home.....anywhere in North America. It's licensed, insured and driven to cruise-ins in Ontario.
This ain't your daddy's Catalina, Strato Chief, Laurentian or
Parisienne. This is a luxurious Bonneville Brougham. One of only 4,341 Bonneville Brougham 2-door coupes built in 1976.
